Centrally situated on Highway 21 between the cities of Edmonton, Leduc and Camrose, our Village is only minutes away from all the amenities that cities offer, while proudly providing small town charm.

Election 2010
The Village needs people on Council who support the growth and contributions of New Sarepta as a significant part of the Capital Region. Council sets the direction for the future of the Village by establishing the Village's budget. Council governs the Village by passing bylaws and policies and hiring a Chief Administrative Officer.
Election day for New Sarepta Village Councillors is October 18, 2010. On September 20, 2010 you will need to file your nomination papers in person between the hours of 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM to run for Village Council.
Across Alberta general municipal elections are held every three years for mayors, councillors, municipal districts electoral area directors, and school board trustees as per the Alberta Local Authorities Election Act, Revised Statutes of Alberta 2000 Chapter L-21.
General voting day is always the third Monday in October. The next Municipal Election will be held Monday October 18, 2010. Candidates are voted in for a three year term.

Are you qualified?
To become a candidate you must be at least 18 years of age on nomination day, a Canadian citizen and, you must have been a resident of the local jurisdiction for 6 consecutive months preceding nomination day.
Ineligibility for nomination
You would not be eligible to become a candidate under any of the following circumstances:
If you are the auditor of the municipality, if you are an employee, unless granted a leave of absence, if your property taxes are more than $50.00 in arrears or you are un default, for more than 90 days, for any other debt in excess of $500.00 to the municipality.
